Let me reintroduce myself

Hello I’m Suzie and I’m the founder and creator of You Matter Always (YMA)
I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce/reintroduce myself and tell you a little bit about YMA and the reason for creating this self-funded, for impact, initiative.
Throughout my life, I've encountered too many individuals who feel they don't matter, that their lives lack value, and that they don't fit in or belong. I too, have felt this way. My journey through trauma, experiences with suicidal thoughts, and the ongoing process of recovery has profoundly shaped me. I’m here to remind you that you didn’t come here to earn your worth, you brought it with you and it’s non-negotiable! You are enough! You always have been! Perfectly imperfect!
To help make a meaningful difference and provide safe and caring spaces for wholehearted and safe connections to grow...I created You Matter Always.
The foundations of YMA were built on the wise words of Dr Maya Angelou who states that: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
YMA aims to help you feel valued, validated, appreciated and encouraged...by providing means for CONVERSATION, CONNECTION, REFLECTION, SELF-DISCOVERY, and PERSONAL GROWTH.
YMA appreciates the significance of peer support and education and endeavours to provide a space where people feel accepted and understood. A safe space which is built on shared personal experiences and empathy - one which focuses on strengths and works towards individual and collective wellbeing and recovery/rediscovery. A space which recognises that attitudes and behaviours can be changed, more readily, when we learn from each other...CHANGED PEOPLE, CHANGING PEOPLE!
YMA consists of numerous elements including, tools for wellbeing, individualised connection cards, peer support groups, workshops, resources, courses, talks, training, campaigning, radio podcasts and online support and encouragment. Each element is centred around a strengths-based approach to recovery/rediscovery, self-management and self-development. One which recognises that "the empowerment process resides in the person, not the helper." One which values who you are and All That You Are because who you are matters...ALWAYS!
